Tea and muffins

The wonderful Marj and Gary Young, founders of Education Is Power  and long-time La Loma guests and friends, recently paid us visit. A great excuse for a little teatime get together of all the local students they sponsor to attend high school and university.

Education is Power was set up after Marj and Gary’s first trip to La Loma in 2010. In its short but remarkable history EIP has funded the construction of the Bahia Honda playground, helped to purchase computers and school supplies, and donated masses of books for the soon to be opened library.  Perhaps most importantly it also provides core funding for the running of the Bahia Honda preschool and after-school programs and provides 10 students with assistance in covering the costs of their education. For any of you that want to contribute to Education is Power and all the good things it brings to Bahia Honda, take a look at their website where you can make a tax deductible donation.
